The CPD project is part of the national initiative to increase the quality and professionalism of learner support practitioners across the Learning and Skills Sector. 

Research has been conducted in approximately thirty colleges and centres in the southern hub of the South West to determine current qualifications; the in-house training and CPD provided by employers, and the gaps in this provision. On the basis of this, and other research, the aim of the project is to devise a CPD Framework mapped to the new LLUK National Occupational Standards which will meet the professional development needs of learning support staff.

It is anticipated that the outcome of the project will contribute towards nationally standardised training and CPD modules from which all centres might benefit.
