The South West Workforce Development Partnership Steering Committee

Background

The South West Workforce Development Partnership is a dynamic group of affiliated education and training organisations based in the 'southern hub' of the South West. The partnerhip has a total commitment to workforce development believing this to be the key to a successful enterprise. Its focus is to harness knowledge, skills and expertise to deliver measurable outcomes around capacity building. 

 The partnership has a national profile and an excellent track record in workforce development projects designed to enhance national occupational standards.

Recent projects include the Transition and Employers' Toolkits to raise awareness and develop strategies to support learners with special educational needs in their transition from school, though college and into work. An associated project is aimed at providing a framework for the continuing professional development of Learning Support Practitioners. Its aim is to provide professional recognition of the worth and value of these essential roles in the support of learners and their learning, and is intended to make a major contribution to underpinning LLUK's National Occupational Standards.

 The mission of the partnership is to collaborate and to share the benefits of quality improvements which are beyond the reach of any individual provider; benefits such as: inter-provider moderation, work shadowing, mentoring, coaching, staff swaps, and blended learning on critical specialisms involving learning groups, tutorials  and e-learning.  

The partnership is keen to collaborate with groups drawn from all the providers within our sub region of the South West. We invite you to become actively involved and to contact us.
